NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF MODIFICATION ORDERS

SECTION 53 OF THE WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

Chinnor Footpaths Nos. 23 & 40 (parts)

Modification Order 2025

On 10 September 2025, Oxfordshire County Council confirmed without modification the above order made under section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. The effect of the order as confirmed is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by: -

– deleting the entire width of a section of Chinnor Footpath 23 running from OS grid reference SP 76791 01342 east-north-east for approximately 2.3m to SP 76793 01343, then south-south-east for approximately 15m to SP 7680 0133.

– deleting the entire width of a section of Chinnor Footpath 40 running from SP 7673 0146 south-east for approximately 11m to SP 7674 0146 and south-south-east for approximately 128m to SP 7679 0134, and from SP 7680 0133 south-south-east for approximately 21m to SP 7680 0131 and south for approximately 6m to SP 7680 0130.

– adding the route of Chinnor Footpath 23 from SP 7679 0132 running east-north-east for approximately 2.5m to SP 7680 0133.

– adding the route of Chinnor Footpath 40 from SP 7673 0146 running south-south-east for approximately 183m to SP 7680 0130.

Horspath Footpath No. 17 Modification Order 2025

On 22 September 2025, Oxfordshire County Council confirmed without modification the above order made under section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.

The effect of the order as confirmed is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by: -

Adding to them the public footpath from Horspath Footpath No. 12, NW of Coopers Yard, at OS grid reference SP 5699 0501, running south south west for approximately 36 metres to SP 5697 0498 and west north west for approximately 15 metres to College Way at SP 5696 0498.

The orders as confirmed became operative on the date of confirmation but if a person aggrieved by an order wants to question its validity, on the ground that it is not within the powers of section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or on the ground that any requirement of Schedule 15 to the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, he or she may, under paragraph 12 of Schedule 15 to the Act, within 42 days from 16 October 2025, make an application to the High Court.
