Ringstead - Modification Order for Public Rights of Way
What is happening?
NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF MODIFICATION ORDER
SECTION 53 OF THE WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981
NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (RINGSTEAD)
MODIFICATION ORDER 2023
The above Order, made on 27th September 2023, was confirmed by an Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs on 04th September 2025.
The effect of the Order, as confirmed, is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by adding two public footpaths:
The first of which starts from the C93 Docking Road at grid reference TF 7153 3994 and runs in a generally south south-easterly direction for approximately 692 metres along a farm track to meet the U22302 at grid reference TF 7176 3929. The width varies between 8 metres and 2.8 metres extending over the surfaced width of the track as shown on the order map. Limitations and conditions: none.
The second public footpath starts from the C93B Thornham Road at grid reference TF 7089 4118 and runs in a generally south south-easterly direction along the eastern side of the field boundary for approximately 440 metres where it meets the track to Bluestone Farm at grid reference TF 7097 4075 where the path turns to follow the track in a generally south south-westerly direction for approximately 170 metres to grid reference TF 7090 4060 where the path and track turn to run in a generally south south-easterly direction for approximately 146 metres to meet the U22154 Foundry Lane at grid reference TF 7092 4046. The width varies between 4.5 metres and 1.8 metres extending over the surfaced width of the track as shown on the order map. Limitations and conditions: none.
A copy of the order and order map may be seen free of charge at County Hall, Martineau Lane, Norwich (please contact landregisandregisters@norfolk.gov.uk in advance) and at the offices of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk Borough Council, Kings Court, Chapel Street, King’s Lynn, Norfolk, PE30 1EX, during normal office hours or purchased at a cost of £5.00 from the undersigned.
The Order took effect on 04th September 2025 but if a person aggrieved by the Order desires to question its validity, or the validity of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of Section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or on the grounds that any requirement of Schedule 15 of that Act, or of any regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order he may, under paragraph 12(1) of Schedule 15 to the Act, make an application for that purpose to the High Court not later than 21st November 2025.
