Statutory Notice of Dissolution

Notice is hereby given by the Corporation of Northern College for Residential Adult Education (Northern College, Wentworth Castle, Stainborough, Barnsley, S75 3ET) of the proposal for the transfer of the property, rights and liabilities to the Corporation of Barnsley College
(49 Church St, Barnsley, S70 2AX) and the subsequent dissolution of the Corporation of Northern College for Residential Adult Education.
Northern College for Residential Adult Education is a residential adult college offering residential and non-residential adult skills courses. It has circa 3,000 enrolments per year.
Dissolution of the Corporation of Northern College for Residential Adult Education is proposed in order that it may merge with Barnsley College.
The date proposed for the dissolution of the Corporation of Northern College of Residential Adult Education is 1st March 2026.
All students at Northern College for Residential Adult Education who have not yet completed their course of study by the date of the proposed dissolution will continue their education in the merged college on the same campus where they studied immediately prior to the dissolution of the Corporation of Northern College for Residential Education.
This will affect approximately 1,900 students.
