Beith – Community Council Election Notice
What is happening?
NORTH AYRSHIRE COUNCIL
Ordinary Election for Beith and District Community Council
Notice is hereby given that Beith and District Community Council is calling for nominations to stand for election to serve as Community Councillors. Candidates for this voluntary position must be aged over 16 and live within the boundary of Beith and District Community Council. The term of office is four years. Current members of the community council are eligible to stand for election.
Nomination papers can be obtained by emailing the Election Team at elections@north-ayrshire.gov.uk or by telephoning 01294 324729. The team can also provide information and advice about community councils membership generally for anyone living within the Beith and District area. Completed nomination papers must contain the name and address of the person nominated and the names and addresses of two proposers, each of whom should be a local government elector for the area. Each nomination paper must be signed by the person nominated and the two proposers. Please note that community councillors serve in a voluntary capacity.
The deadline for nominations is 12 noon on Friday 7 November 2025.
An election meeting will be held at 7.30pm on Tuesday 18 November 2025 at Beith Community Centre, Kings Road, Beith KA15 2BQ.
In the event that the number of nominations received meets the minimum requirement (5) and does not exceed the maximum membership allowed (10), all nominees will be appointed to the community council.
Should the number of nominations received exceed the places available, a ballot will be held at the election meeting, with all local electors aged 16 and over in attendance eligible to cast a vote.
