What is happening?

CITY OF BRISTOL

(PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY 117 (FOOTPATH FROM WESTBURY ROAD TO GRANGE PARK), WESTBURY-ON-TRYM, BRISTOL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY FOOT PASSENGERS) ORDER 2025 

NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to pedestrians that length of Public Right of Way 117 (Footpath from Westbury Road to Grange Park) which extends from Entrance to Redmaids’ High School to Grange Park. 

The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the public right of way and will be operative from 17th November 2025 for a maximum period of six months. However, the restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take place between 17th November 2025 and 27th February 2026). 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Entrance to Redmaids’ High School, Westbury Road, Eastfield Road, Priory Avenue, Grange Park and vice versa

(HILL VIEW, HENLEAZE, BRISTOL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY VEHICLES) ORDER 2025 

NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Hill View which extends from South Croft to Southmead Road. 

The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road and will be operative from 3rd November 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closure may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take place between 3rd November 2025 and 14th November 2025). 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Northbound: South Croft, Cransley Crescent, Wellington Hill West, Southmead Road Southbound: Southmead Road, Henleaze Road, Henleaze Park Drive, Hill View (part unaffected)

(BROCKS BRIDGE, REDCLIFF, BRISTOL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY VEHICLES AND FOOT PASSENGERS) ORDER 2025 

NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles and pedestrians that length of Brocks Bridge which extends from Feeder Road south westwards for 93 metres. 

The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the bridge and will be operative from 27th October 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: None available

(VARIOUS ROADS, COTHAM, BRISTOL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY VEHICLES) ORDER 2025 

NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads as specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemption will be provided in the Order for any vehicle requiring necessary access to premises situated on, adjacent to or accessible only from the closed lengths of road. 

The Order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon the need to facilitate the safe movement of pedestrians during periods of increased pedestrian and vehicle activity associated with the University of Bristol Open Days taking place on or in the vicinity of each road. The Order will be operative from 1st November 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the need to restrict the roads during periods of increased activity (which are anticipated to take place on the following dates: 1st November 2025, 12th June 2026 to 13th June 2026 and 31st October 2026). 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Eastbound: Elton Road, Elmdale Road, Queens Avenue, Queens Road, Triangle South, Triangle West, Queens Road, St. Pauls Road, Tyndalls Park Road, St. Michaels Hill, St. Michaels Park (part unaffected) Westbound: St. Michaels Hill, St. Michaels Park (part unaffected), Tyndalls Park Road, Elmdale Road, University Road, Woodland Road (part unaffected) 

SCHEDULE – Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles
Priory Road – from Elmdale Road to Woodland Road
St. Michaels Park – from its westernmost junction with Osborne Villas to Woodland Road
Tyndall Avenue – from St. Michaels Hill to Woodland Road
Woodland Road – from Tyndall Avenue to Tyndalls Park Road
