PROPOSAL TO PERMANENTLY CLOSE EDDLESTON PRIMARY
SCHOOL(CURRENTLY MOTHBALLED)
Scottish Borders Council has voted to proceed to a Statutory Consultation on the permanent closure of Eddleston Primary School and the rezoning of the
catchment to either Newlands Primary or Kingsland Primary in Peebles. An Options Appraisal was prepared which concluded that proceeding to closure was the only option following assessments of alternatives under The Schools (Consultation) (Scotland) Act 2010 (As Amended). A Proposal paper in respect of the Proposal to permanently close the school will be taken to Council on 30th November 2025 and the Statutory Consultation will be 8th December 2025 until 13th February 2026 inclusive.
A public meeting will be held within the Consultation period and details of this will be published within the Proposal Paper and advertised widely. All Welcome and invited.

Please be aware that the Consultation will open on 8th December 2025 until 13th February 2026 inclusive to have your say on the Proposals.
