NOTICE OF PROPOSED MODIFICATION OF TRUST PURPOSES

Notice is hereby given that SOUTH AYRSHIRE COUNCIL, as Trustees of the Carnegie Morton Trust, have passed a resolution under section 10(3) of the Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Scotland) Act 1990 that the trust deeds be modified by replacing the trust purposes by other purposes specified in the resolution.

A copy of the trust deeds and of the resolution may be viewed online on the website of South Ayrshire Council (Current Consultations) at the following link https://www.south-ayrshire.gov.uk/article/80970/Current-consultations

or inspected at County Buildings, Wellington Square, Ayr KA7 1DR between 23 September and 7 October 2025 between 08.45 am and 4.45 pm from Monday to Thursday and 08.45 am and 4.00 pm on a Friday.

Any person with an interest in the purposes of the trust may object to what is proposed by sending an objection, in writing, to the Council’s Chief Governance Officer by email to cat@south-ayrshire.gov.uk or by post to County Buildings, Wellington Square, Ayr KA7 1DR, marked for the attention of The Community Asset Transfer Team, to arrive not later than 7 October 2025. The objection should state the objector’s name and address, the objector’s interest in the trust purposes, the objection, and reasons for the objection.

Any such objection will be sent to the Lord Advocate by the Council with their comments and the objector will be given another opportunity to comment. The Lord Advocate has power to direct the trust not to proceed with the modification.
