PRESCRIBED ALTERATIONS TO CREATE A SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS AND DISABILITIES (SEND) PROVISION AT THE GROVE PRIMARY SCHOOL, CAMBRIDGE, BY WAY OF AN ENHANCED RESOURCE
BASE (ERB) UNIT FOR STUDENTS WITH AUTISM (ASD)
The County Council is consulting on prescribed alterations to The Grove Primary School, Campkin Road, Cambridge CB4 2NB It is proposed to make two distinct changes to the current school offer, these are.
1. Establishing a SEND provision, known as “The Aviary”, Enhanced Resource Base (ERB) which will offer 10 places for students with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and Autism (ASD) primary need.
2. To change the designation of the school to reflect their SEND provision supporting Autism.
Places at the provision are in addition to the published admission number for the school and children’s places at the setting will be kept separate from the normal admissions process, following the SEND process for this.
Subject to completion of alterations required to existing accommodation at the school, the proposal is for the Unit to be operational from Spring 2026.
This will help the Council meet the rising demand for provisions and specialist places for children with Autism and speech and language communication needs.
The consultation period will run from 8th September 2025 to 3rd October 2025.
For further information and to access the full proposal, please visit the school changes and consultations pages on the Cambridgeshire County Council website.
