OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

REVISION OF LIBRARY BYELAWS

Oxfordshire County Council are proposing to update library byelaws.

These byelaws are put in place at a local council level to help regulate behaviour in the county’s public libraries.

They follow a national template, and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport have recently confirmed that they are content with the draft byelaws brought forward by the council.

These draft byelaws are now available for county residents to review through their local branch library, Oxfordshire County Council’s website, or in hard copy at Westgate Library and County Offices in Oxford.

A copy of the draft byelaws can be supplied on request.

These byelaws are planned to be confirmed and implemented later in the year, after the draft version has been available for inspection from the 28th August 2025 for one month.
