What is happening?

THE CITY OF EDINBURGH COUNCIL

NOTICE TO EXEMPT LAND FROM ACCESS RIGHTS

Notice is hereby given under Section 11(9) of the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 (“The Act”) that on Saturday 13 September 2025, the City of Edinburgh Council made West Princes Street Gardens (Fly Open Air Festival), Order 2025 (“the Order”) under Section 11(1) of the Act.

The effect of the Order is to exempt West Princes Street Gardens from the access rights which would otherwise be exercisable in respect of that land by virtue of Part 1 of the Act.

The purpose for which the Order is made is to provide a secure and safe working environment in the final run up to the event and limit access during the event to customers and participants only.

The Order will take effect from 07.00 on 13 September 2025 and will expire at 19.00 on 14th September, unless revoked earlier.
