What is happening?

SOUTH AYRSHIRE COUNCIL

NOTICE TO EXEMPT LAND FROM ACCESS RIGHTS

Notice is hereby given under section 11(9) of the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 (“the Act”) that on 11th August 2025, having consulted the local access forum, South Ayrshire Council made the South Ayrshire Council (Ayr Beach, International Ayr Show Festival of Flight) Exempting Land from Access Rights Order 2025 (“the Order”), under Section 11(1) of the Act.

The effect of the Order is to exempt from the access rights which would otherwise be exercisable by virtue of Part 1 of the Act, the land at Ayr Beach, all as outlined and hatched in red on the plan annexed and signed as relative to the Order.

The purpose for which the Order is made is to enable the International Ayr Show Festival of Flight to be held, whilst maintaining the safety of participants, spectators and the public.

The Order will be effective from 00:00 on 05/09/25 until 23:59 on 06/09/25 unless revoked earlier and may be viewed on the Council’s website at
