What is happening?

NOTICE OF MODIFICATION ORDER

SECTION 53 OF THE WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

THE DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT OF PUBLIC RIGHTS OF WAY

FOR THE COUNTY OF LANCASHIRE

THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

RESTRICTED BYWAY FROM MOSS LANE TO WHAM LANE, LITTLE HOOLE

DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION ORDER 2025

The above Order, made on the 19 March 2025, if confirmed as made, will modify the Definitive Map and Statement of Public Rights of Way for the area, by recording:

Footpath upgraded to restricted byway from Moss Lane immediately north of the property known as Westfield, east to Wham Lane immediately north of ‘Heatherfield’.

The route is shown on the Order Map between points A-B as a broken green line. The total length of the route is 0.50 km and the width varies between 6 metres and 9 metres.

A copy of the Order and the Order Map may be found and downloaded free from our website at https://dmno.lancashire.gov.uk/application.asp?id=524. A copy of the Order and the Order Map may also be seen free of charge at the offices of South Ribble Borough Council, and at my offices from 9am to 5pm on weekdays. Copies of the order and map may be bought there at the price of £1.00. A free digital copy of the Order be requested by emailing ansar.sadiq@lancashire.gov.uk or by telephoning Ansar Sadiq on 01772 532435 between 9.00 and 17.00, Monday to Friday.

Any representations about, or objections to the Order may be sent in writing by email to ansar.sadiq@lancashire.gov.uk or by letter to Ansar Sadiq, Lancashire County Council, PO Box 100, County Hall, Preston, PR1 0LD (REF: LSG4/888.2192/AS002) not later than 2 October 2025 and applicants are requested to state the grounds on which they are made.

If no representations or objections are duly made to the Order, or if any so made are withdrawn, Lancashire County Council, instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State for the Environment, may itself confirm the Order. If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
