Notice of application for a full licence to abstract (take) water

Sager House (Almeida) Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from underground strata comprised of confined chalk at Islington Square, London at National Grid References (NGRs) TQ 31544 83951, TQ 31562 83951 and TQ 31580 83952.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

• 270 cubic metres an hour • 3,780 cubic metres a day

• 839,160 cubic metres a year.

The water will be used for an open-loop ground source heating and cooling system.

Further details are: The application is to replace a previously lapsed licence. All water abstracted will be returned to the same aquifer via boreholes at NGRs TQ 31595 83863 and TQ 31550 83855.
