ANNOUNCEMENT OF INTENTION NOT TO PREPARE AN ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT

(Regulation 5 of the Environmental Impact Assessment (Land Drainage Improvement Works) Regulations 1999 as amended by SI 2005/1399 and SI 2006/618)

River Tas – Forncett St Peter floodplain re-connection works

The Environment Agency gives notice that it proposes to carry out restoration works along a section of the River Tas at Forncett St Peter. The scheme will involve reconnection of meanders that were disconnected in the 1950s. The proposed works will not increase flood risk from the River Tas and are designed to improve the form, ecological value and biodiversity of the river.

The Environment Agency considers that the improvement works are not likely to have any significant effects on the environment, and does not intend to prepare an Environmental Statement in respect of them. Further information in the form of an Environmental Action Plan is available from the address below. Any person wishing to make representations in relation to the likely environmental effects of the proposed works should do so in writing to the address specified below within 28 days of the date of publication of this notice.
