What is happening?

LOCAL GOVERNMENT (MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS) ACT 1976, PART II SECTION 65(2)(a)

FIXING OF FARES FOR HACKNEY CARRIAGES

Dorset Council are proposing the following changes to the Weymouth and Portland Zone Table of Fares which will come into effect on 15 September 2025, 1 April 2026 and 1 April 2027.

Tariff 3 and 4 to be adjusted appropriately in line with 50% and 100% uplift. Proposed increase to Soiling charge to £100.

If you have any objections to the proposed changes you can send them in writing by:

  • Emailing licensing@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk

  • Post to Licensing, Dorset Council, Colliton Park, Dorchester, DT1 1XJ

Comments must be received by midnight 24 August 2025.

If no objections are received by 24 August the new fare table will apply from 15 September 2025, 1 April 2026 and 1 April 2027.

Any objections will be given due consideration by the Council and the proposed fees with or without modification will apply from 15 September 2025, 1 April 2026 and 1 April 2027.
