Notice of application for a full licence to abstract (take) water

North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from underground strata comprised of Magnesian Limestone at University Hospital of Hartlepool at National Grid References (NGRs) NZ 49683 34501 and NZ 49716 34509.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

• 155 cubic metres an hour • 3,720 cubic metres a day • 828,267 cubic metres a year.

The water will be used for an open-loop ground source heating and cooling system.

All water abstracted will be returned to the same aquifer via boreholes at NGRs NZ 50072 34477 and NZ 50083 34456. Please contact us via email or use the number below to arrange to see the application documents.
