What is happening?
Notice of the making of a Definitive Map Modification Order, The North Yorkshire Council, Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981, Restricted Byway 20.75/58 Reeth, Fremington & Healaugh & 20.42/9 Marrick Fremington Edge Modification Order 2025
The above Order, made on 18/07/25, if confirmed as made, will modify the Definitive Map & Statement for the area by upgrading to Restricted Byway Footpaths 20.42/9 between grid reference SE0704990808 & grid reference SE059699338 & 20.75/58 between grid reference SE05969938 & NZ03100218. A copy of the Order as made & the Order Map may be seen free of charge during normal office hours at Richmond Community Library, 10A Queen’s Road, Richmond, DL10 4AE, North Yorkshire until 19/09/25. Copies of the Order & Map may be purchased from Countryside Access Service, North Yorkshire Council, County Hall, Northallerton, North Yorkshire, DL7 8AD (tel: 03001312131) at a cost of £2.00, or can be downloaded free from our website www.northyorks.gov.uk/pathnotices.
Any representation or objection relating to the Order must be sent in writing to Robert Light, Countryside Access Service, North Yorkshire Council, County Hall, Northallerton, North Yorkshire, DL7 8AD*, or email robert.light@northyorks.gov.uk no later than 19/09/25 stating the grounds on which it is made. Please note that objections/representations cannot be treated as confidential & may come into the public domain. Copies of any objections or representations received may be disclosed to interested parties, including the Planning Inspectorate where the case is referred to it for determination.
If no representations or objections are duly made to the Order, or to any part of it, or if any so made are withdrawn, The North Yorkshire Council, instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State or part of it if the Authority has by notice to the Secretary of State so elected under paragraph 5 of Schedule 15 to the Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981 may itself confirm the Order or that part of the Order. If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, in whole or in part, any representations or objections which have been duly made & not withdrawn will be sent with it.
