What is happening?

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990

The Secretary of State gives notice of an Order made under Section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping up of Highways (North East) (No.13) Order 2025” authorising the stopping up of a 2 irregular shaped areas of highway to the east of the A691 Southfield Way at Durham in the County of Durham. This is to enable development as permitted by Durham County Council under reference DM/24/00149/FPA.

Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, from the Secretary of State, National Transport Casework Team, Tyneside House, Skinnerburn Road, Newcastle Business Park, Newcastle upon Tyne NE4 7AR or nationalcasework@dft.gov.uk (quoting NATTRAN/NE/S247/5744). They may also be inspected during normal opening hours at Durham Post Office, 22–23 Market Place, Durham, DH1 3NJ.

Any person who wishes to challenge the validity of the decision to make the Order may apply to the High Court within 6 weeks from 6 August 2025.
