APPLICATION FOR: Intertidal Potential (pUXO) Investigation

Notice is hereby given that SIZEWELL C LIMITED, 25 Copthall Avenue, London, EC2R 7BP has applied to the Marine Management Organisation under the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009, Part 4, for a marine licence to undertake:

Other deposits and other removals - The investigation of two potential Unexploded Ordinance (pUXO) targets in the intertidal foreshore of Sizewell Beach and the removal of non-UXO debris. Targets will be excavated and removed by Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) personnel supported by an armoured excavator and dumper vehicle. Works may be supported by a dive team in instances of tidal inundation. Separately, two Cone Penetration Testing (CPT) investigations will be undertaken to provide further verification of the absence of pUXO in the intertidal construction area.

In all cases, correspondence must:

    • Be received within 28 days of the date of Monday 4th August 2025;

    • Quote the case reference MLA/2025/00306; and

  • Include an address to which correspondence relating to the representation or objection may be sent.

The Marine Management Organisation will pass to the applicant a copy of any objection or representation we receive.
