What is happening?

NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF A PUBLIC PATH ORDER

HIGHWAYS ACT 1980

YORKSHIRE DALES NATIONAL PARK AUTHORITY

FOOTPATH 318006 (PARISH OF CROSBY GARRETT) DIVERSION ORDER 2025

On 24 June 2025 the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority confirmed the above order made under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.

The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert the section of public footpath that runs from point A (grid reference NY 7225 0638) in a south westerly direction for 95 metres, before turning south south eastwards for 42 metres, and continuing generally southwards for 38 metres to point B (NY 7224 0622) (total length 175 metres), so as to be run, instead, from point A (NY 7225 0638) firstly in a south and then south-easterly direction for 85 metres, then continuing south westwards for a further 95 metres, then via an old walled passage for 12 metres to point B (NY 7224 0622) (total length 192 metres) as shown on the order map. All distances stated are approximate.

The order comes into force on the date of confirmation of the order, but if a person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 31 July 2025, make an application to the High Court.
