Ashcott, Variation Of Explosives Manufacturing & Storage Licence
What is happening?
Notice is hereby given that in pursuance of regulation 14 of the Explosives Regulations 2014 (ER2014)
Event Horizon Pyrotechnics Ltd has made a request to Somerset Local Authority for their assent to vary the licence currently held for the manufacture and storage of explosives at The Old Brewery, Stagman Lane, Ashcott, TA7 9BJ.
This site has been storing explosives under a combination of a police license issued by Avon and Police Somerset and a manufacturing and storage license under a separate HSE license for the past 12 years.
This application is to combine the licenses into a single HSE storage and manufacturing license for the site. The amended license will see a relocation of the main store and a reduction in the total quantity of explosives stored but will also extend the small-scale manufacturing and testing of explosives to other buildings on the site. A copy of the application and the draft licence is available to view at The Heart of The South West Trading Standards Service, West Buckland Road, Chelston, Wellington, Somerset, TA21 9HP. Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm There is plenty of free parking within the grounds. Anyone who wishes to make representations on matters affecting the health and safety of persons other than the applicant's employees that may arise out of the variation of the licence should send those representations to: Marlon Lockhart, Trading Standards Service, Taw View, North Walk, Barnstaple, Devon, EX31 1EE; e-mail: marlon.lockhart@devon.gov.uk.
