Notice is hereby given that on 15 July 2025, the Court of Session made an order granting permission for group proceedings to be brought by Paul Bell as representative party on behalf of members of the group against (First) Volvo Car Corporation, Assar Gabrielssons Vag, SF-405, 31 Gothenburg, Sweden; (Second) Volvo Car UK Limited, Scandinavia House, Norreys Drive, Maidenhead, Berkshire SKL6 4FLK; (Third) Lex Autolease Limited, 25 Gresham Street, London, EC2V 7HN; and (Fourth) Santander Consumer (UK) PLC, Santander House, 86 Station Road, Redhill, Surrey RH1 1SR.
The group proceedings relate to claims arising in Scotland from the NOx emissions issues affecting Volvo diesel engines manufactured to Euro 5 or Euro 6 emissions standards (Excluding Euro 6d and Euro 6d). It is alleged that defeat devices unlawfully reduced the effectiveness of said vehicles’ nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions control systems and the defenders have thereby caused loss and damage to the group members.
