What is happening?

NOTICE OF PUBLIC PATH STOPPING UP & DIVERSION ORDER

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990, SECTION 257

AND PARAGRAPH 1 OF SCHEDULE 14

FAREHAM BOROUGH COUNCIL

(FOOTPATH 39 – LAND EAST OF POSBROOK LANE)

STOPPING UP & DIVERSION ORDER 2025

The above order was made on the 16th day of July 2025. The effect of the order is to

1. Stop up that part of Footpath 39 shown by a zebra hatched line on the Order Map. The co-ordinates are A = 453538.74, 105131.78 to B = 453673.48, 105221.42 with a length of 161.83m

2. Divert that part of Footpath 39 as shown by vertical hatching to existing Footpath 34 as shown on the Order Map. The co-ordinates are A = 453538.74, 105131.78 to C = 453645.63, 105113.86 with a length of 109.04m. The width of the new footpath is two metres.

3. Note: The existing Footpath 34 is not affected by the stopping up and diversion order although the cross hatched route from B to C will be used instead of the stopped-up route.

Copies of the Order and the Order Map may be seen free of charge at the reception at Fareham Borough Council, Civic Offices, Civic Way, Fareham, PO16 7AZ between the hours of 08:45 – 17:15 (Monday – Friday). Copies may be obtained free of charge upon request.

Any representation about or objection to the Order may be emailed to devcontrol@fareham.gov.uk or sent/delivered in writing addressed to the Director of Legal and Governance and Monitoring Officer (ref CB/FBC/062091) at the address set out below at not later than 15th August 2025.

Please state the grounds on which the representation is made. If no such representation or objections are duly made or if any so made are withdrawn Fareham Borough Council may itself confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food & Rural Affairs for confirmation, any representations or objections, which have not been withdrawn, will be sent with the Order.
