What is happening?

CHESHIRE WEST AND CHESTER COUNCIL

PROPOSAL TO PERMANENTLY INCREASE THE NUMBER OF SCHOOL PLACES AT DORIN PARK SCHOOL AT UPTON-BY-CHESTER HIGH SCHOOL

NOTICE is given in accordance with section 19(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 and The School Organisation (Prescribed Alterations to Maintained Schools) (England) Regulations 2013 that Cheshire West and Chester Council intends to make a prescribed alteration to Dorin Park School (Wealstone Lane, Upton, Chester, Cheshire, CH2 1HD), from the point of decision.

Cheshire West and Chester Council propose to permanently increase the number of school places by 16, via satellite site at Upton-By-Chester High School.

Dorin Park School is currently running a temporary satellite site at Upton-By-Chester High school from September 2024, offering 8 places for Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) for Key Stage 3 (KS3) pupils.

The proposal is to expand this current offer by a further 8 places bringing the proposal to a total of 16 places for MLD for Key Stage3 and KS4 pupils.

The proposal will enable the increase to be made permanent.

The proposed increase will take effect from the point of decision, made by the Cabinet Member for Children and Young People.
