PUBLIC INSPECTION NOTICE - ACCOUNTS 2024-2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN in accordance with the provisions of sections 101 and 195 of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 and Regulations 9 (1) to (3) of the Local Authority Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2014 that:
(a) Abstracts of the accounts of The City of Edinburgh Council, Lothian Pension Fund and Scottish Homes Pension Fund, The City of Edinburgh Council Charitable Trusts and Edinburgh Integration Joint Board for the financial year to 31 March 2025, to be audited as required in terms of the foregoing regulations and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts relating thereto, will be available for public inspection by any interested person during the following hours (Monday to Thursday, 9am to 4pm and Friday, 9am to 3.30pm) over the fifteen working-day period from Tuesday 1 July 2025 to Monday 21 July 2025, both dates inclusive.
The unaudited accounts for the above-noted bodies will be published on the Council’s website at https://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/budget-finance/unaudited-accounts by 1 July 2025. Any requests for inspection must thereafter be sent for the attention of the Service Director: Finance and Procurement, corporate.finance2@edinburgh.gov.uk, whereupon the request(s) will be considered and, wherever possible, the requested information provided electronically. Where this is not possible, the Council will make arrangements to provide access.
(b) Any person interested may inspect the abstracts of accounts to be audited and the supporting information outlined at (a) above and make copies thereof free of charge. A charge may apply in cases where copies are provided by the Council.
(c) Any person interested may object to the accounts or to any part of the accounts as follows:
(i) in respect of The City of Edinburgh Council accounts, any objection must be sent in writing, stating the grounds for the objection, to Michael Oliphant, Audit Director, Audit Scotland, 102 West Port, Edinburgh, EH3 9DN, not later than Tuesday 22 July 2025, sending a copy of that objection and statement, in electronic format, to Dr Deborah Smart, Executive Director of Corporate Services, The City of Edinburgh Council, deborah.smart@edinburgh.gov.uk.
(ii) in respect of The City of Edinburgh Council Charitable Trusts accounts, any objection must be sent in writing, stating the grounds for the objection, to Christopher Gardner, Senior Audit Manager, Audit Scotland, 102 West Port, Edinburgh, EH3 9DN, not later than Tuesday 22 July 2025, sending a copy of that objection and statement, in electronic format, to Dr Deborah Smart, Executive Director of Corporate Services, The City of Edinburgh Council, deborah. smart@edinburgh.gov.uk.
(iii) in respect of the Edinburgh Integration Joint Board accounts, any objection must be sent in writing, stating the grounds for the objection, to Michael Oliphant, Audit Director, Audit Scotland, 102 West Port, Edinburgh, EH3 9DN, not later than Tuesday 22 July 2025, sending a copy of that objection and statement, in electronic format, to Moira Pringle, Chief Finance Officer, Edinburgh Integration Joint Board, c/o The City of Edinburgh Council, moira.pringle@nhslothian.scot. nhs.uk.
(iv) in respect of the Lothian Pension Fund and Scottish Homes Pension Fund accounts, any objection must be sent in writing, stating the grounds for the objection, to Chris Brown, Audit Partner, Azets Audit Services, Quay 2, 139 Fountainbridge, Edinburgh, EH3 9QG, not later than Tuesday 22 July 2025, sending a copy of that objection and statement, in electronic format, to Alan Sievewright, Chief Financial Officer, Lothian Pension Fund, Sie78A20@lpf.org.uk.
(d) Any person objecting to the accounts may ask to appear in person before the auditor or appoint a representative to put the case in relation to their objections. Such requests should be made in writing, using the relevant contact details above.
