What is happening?

WEST LOTHIAN COUNCIL 

WEST LOTHIAN INTEGRATION JOINT BOARD CHARITABLE TRUSTS ANNUAL AUDIT OF ACCOUNTS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN in accordance with the Local Government (Scotland) Act, 1973, Section 101, and Regulation 9(1) of the Local Authority Accounts (Scotland) Regulations, 2014, regarding the annual audit of accounts for West Lothian Council, West Lothian Integration Joint Board, and several charitable trusts.

A. Inspection of Accounts:

Abstracts of Accounts for West Lothian Council, West Lothian Integration Joint Board, and the following charities for the period from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, are available for public inspection:

SCO19714 - Quarter Farm Mortification for Benefit of Poor
SCO19709 - James Wood Bequest for the Poor (Blackridge & Torphichen)
SCO19708 - James Wood Bequest for a Nurse
SCO19711 - David Forrester Bequest
SCO29023 - West Lothian Trust for the Benefit of People with Disabilities
SCO25091 - Miscellaneous Charitable Trusts
SCO19710/SCO19717-SCO19720 - Connected Charities - Linlithgow
SCO19712/SCO19716 - Connected Charities - Uphall
SCO20953 - Bathgate and Boghall Youth and Community Endeavour Trust

These accounts, along with all related books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers, and receipts, can be inspected by any interested person at the office of the Acting Head of Finance and Property Services, West Lothian Civic Centre, Livingston.

Inspection Period: From June 27, 2025, to July 17, 2025 (inclusive).

Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on any weekday, excluding Saturday.

Appointment: Requests for inspection must be made by emailing Financialmanagement@westlothian.gov.uk.

Online Access: Copies of the unaudited accounts are available for download from the West Lothian Council website at westlothian.gov.uk.

B. Objections to Accounts:

Any interested person may object to the Accounts, or any part thereof, by submitting a written objection along with a statement of the grounds for objection.

Submission Requirements:

A copy of the objection and statement of grounds must be sent to the Auditor (details below).
A copy must also be sent to the undersigned (Kenneth Ribbons) and to any concerned officer of the Council. Deadline: Objections must be submitted to the Auditor by July 18, 2025.
C. Hearing by Auditor:

Any person who wishes to object to the Accounts can also appear before and be heard by the Auditor concerning their objection. This appearance can be made either personally or through a representative.

D. Auditor Details:

The Auditor is Claire Gardiner, Audit Director, Audit Scotland, 4th Floor, 102 West Port, Edinburgh, EH3 9DN.
