EASTSIDE COMMON & WESTSIDE COMMON (FIELD 22), GODMANCHESTER

Anglian Water Services Limited has applied to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for consent under section 38 of the Commons Act 2006 to carry out restricted works on the above commons. The Planning Inspectorate will decide the application on behalf of the Secretary of State.

The proposed works are: archaeological investigations involving trenching, followed by the laying of twin 400mm public sewer pipelines. The pipe laying will be partly open-trenched and partly directionally drilled and extend for approximately 1050 metres. Temporary fencing will be erected to separate the works from the rest of the common to ensure public safety, and temporary matting will be used at access points. All areas of the commons will be restored to their original state at the end of construction, other than the presence of a number of air valve covers flush with the commons’ surface.

A copy of the application form and accompanying documents can be inspected at Anglian Water’s nearby offices at Lancaster House, Lancaster Way, Ermine Business Park, Huntingdon PE29 6XU during normal office hours until 18 July 2025. A copy of the application form and accompanying documents may be obtained by writing to the Regulation Solicitor at the same address or LegalTeam@anglianwater.co.uk.
