NOTICE OF MODIFICATION ORDER

WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981 – SECTION 53

The Definitive Map of Public Rights of Way in Cambridgeshire

Relevant date: 11th May 2016

The Cambridgeshire County Council (Restricted Byway No. 10, Mepal) Definitive Map Modification Order 2025

On 14 May 2025 Cambridgeshire County Council confirmed the above Order. The effect of the Order as confirmed is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by upgrading Public Footpath No. 10, Mepal to a restricted byway from a junction with Witcham Road at a layby at TL 4493 8063 generally north-north-west for approx. 1061m to a junction with Public Footpath No. 9, Mepal at TL 4472 8167 as shown on the Order Map.

A copy of the Order as confirmed and the Order Map have been deposited and may be inspected free of charge at the offices of the East Cambridgeshire District Council at The Grange, Nutholt Lane, Ely, CB7 4EE and of the undersigned during normal office hours. Copies of the Order and Order Map may be purchased at the latter at the price of £18.00 or downloaded for free from https://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/residents/libraries-leisure-culture/countryside-access/definitive-map-and-statement-orders 

The Order became operative as from 14 May 2025, but if any person aggrieved by the Order desires to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or on the ground that requirements of the Act, or of any regulation made thereunder, have not been complied with in relation to the Order, they may before 17 July 2025 make an application of the purpose to the High Court.
