Definitive Map Modification Order (No 10) 2024
The above Order, made on 18th September 2024, was confirmed on 30th April 2025, will modify the definitive map and statement for the area by:-
Former Tynedale District
Restricted Byway No 58 / Footpath No 15 (Parish of Henshaw)
Upgrading thereto to restricted byway status, part of existing Public Footpath No 15, from the eastern end of existing Byway Open to All Traffic No 31, at the eastern end of Peatrigg Plantation (O.S. Grid Ref NY 7568 6817), in an easterly direction for a distance of 730 metres to a point 850 metres west of Hotbank (NY 7638 6838).
And adding thereto a restricted byway, from a point 850 metres west of Hotbank (O.S. Grid Ref NY 7638 6838), in a general north-easterly and easterly direction for a distance of 485 metres to join alleged Restricted Byway No 63 in the Parish of Bardon Mill, 670 metres north-west of Hotbank (NY 7673 6863).
Restricted Byway No 63 / Footpaths Nos 1 & 2 (Parish of Bardon Mill)
Adding thereto a restricted byway, from alleged Restricted Byway No 58 in the Parish of Henshaw, 670 metres north-west of Hotbank (O.S. Grid Ref NY 7673 6863), in a general easterly direction for a distance of 610 metres to a point 420 metres north of Hotbank (NY 7722 6861).
And upgrading thereto to restricted byway status, part of existing Public Footpath No 2, from a point 420 metres north of Hotbank (O.S. Grid Ref NY 7722 6861), in a north-easterly direction for a distance of 800 metres to the junction of existing Public Footpaths Nos 1 and 2, 1050 metres north-east of Hotbank (NY 7789 6902).
And upgrading thereto to restricted byway status, part of existing Public Footpath No 1, from the junction of existing Public Footpaths Nos 1 and 2, 1050 metres north-east of Hotbank (O.S. Grid Ref NY 7789 6902), in an easterly direction for a distance of 1990 metres, to join alleged Restricted Byway No 4 in the Parish of Haydon, at the King’s Wicket, 550 metres north-west of Moss Kennels (NY 7982 6938).
Restricted Byway / Footpath No 4 (Parish of Haydon)
Upgrading thereto to restricted byway status, existing Public Footpath No 4, from alleged Restricted Byway No 63 in the Parish of Bardon Mill, at the King’s Wicket, 550 metres north-west of Moss Kennels (O.S. Grid Ref NY 7982 6938), in a south-easterly direction for a distance of 480 metres to join the B6318 Military Road, 70 metres west of Moss Kennels (NY 8015 6903).
Byway Open to All Traffic No 31 (Parish of Henshaw)
The Definitive Statement for this existing public right of way will be amended to reflect the addition of the ‘new’ Restricted Byway No 58.
These details are shown on the Order map. A copy of the Order and the Order map may be seen free of charge at the Council Offices of The Queen’s Hall, Beaumont Street, Hexham, NE46 3LS and the offices of Legal Services, County Hall, Morpeth during normal working hours. The Order became operative on 30th April 2025 but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provisions contained in it, on the ground that any requirements of the Act or any regulation has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, within six weeks from 15th May 2025 make an application to the High Court for that purpose.
