Arne, Wareham – Application to Vary a Water Abstraction Licence

Notice of application to vary a transfer licence to abstract (take) water
Kier Infrastructure and Overseas Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is to vary licence serial number SW/044/0059/012 to abstract water from underground strata comprising of Tidal Flat Deposits at National Grid Reference SY 94215 86900 (approximate centre of abstraction area) at Arne, Wareham, Dorset for the purpose of dewatering.
The variation applied for is to:
(1) increase the abstraction quantities:

Kier Infrastructure and Overseas Limited originally applied to reduce the size of the licensed abstraction area.
During the determination of the application this has been revised, reverting back to the original size of the abstraction area as per the current licence. Therefore the only changes as part of the latest application is those specified in (1) and (2) above.
