Old School Close - Notice of Application for the Registration of Land as a Town or Village Green
What is happening?
COMMONS ACT 2006 - SECTION 15(1)
NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR THE REGISTRATION OF LAND AS A TOWN OR VILLAGE GREEN.
To every reputed owner, lessee, tenant or occupier of any part of the land described below, and to all others whom it may concern.
Application has been made to Staffordshire County Council, 1, Staffordshire Place, Tipping Street, Stafford ST16 2LP by Douglas Blanks of Ann Moore Lodge, Old School Close, Weston, Stafford, ST18 0HF under section 15(1) of the Commons Act 2006 and in accordance with the Commons (Registration of Town or Village Greens) (Interim Arrangements) (England) Regulations 2007.
The application seeks the inclusion in the register of town and village greens of the land described in the Schedule below which is claimed to have qualified for registration as a town or village green on 18th September 2020 by virtue of the belief that the field has been used by villagers for well over 100 years without permission or challenge as a green space, used for sports and recreation and is held to be an essential part of the villages heritage and character. The application, which includes a plan of the land proposed for registration may be inspected at the following offices, Staffordshire County Council, 1, Staffordshire Place, Tipping Street, Stafford ST16 2LP during normal office hours and at Stafford Borough Council, Riverside, Civic Centre, Stafford ST16 3AQ during normal office hours.
If the Registration Authority is satisfied that the land described below qualifies for registration as a town or village green, it will so register the land.
Any person wishing to object to the registration of the land as a town or village green should send a statement of the facts on which the objection is based to the Director of Finance and Resources, Staffordshire County Council, 2 Staffordshire Place, Tipping Steet, Stafford ST16 2DH on or before 11th July 2025.
Any representations that are to be taken into account by the Authority in reaching a decision on the application cannot be treated as confidential and will be copied to the Applicant for comment and may be disclosed to other interested parties.

Description of the land claimed to have qualified for registration as a town or village green being - Land usually known as “The Green on Old School Close” as shown on the maps which accompany the application being an area of open green space lying between Old School Close, Weston and the A518.
