STATUTORY NOTICE

Proposed amalgamation of Squirrels Heath Infant and Squirrels Heath Junior Schools

Part 1

Notice is given in accordance with section 19(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 that the London Borough of Havering intends to make the following prescribed alterations to Squirrels Heath Junior School from 1 September 2025:

(a) To lower the age range of the school to 4 - 11 years, thereby becoming a primary school.

(b) The enlargement of the premises of the school.

Notice is given in accordance with section 15(1) of the Education Inspections Act 2006 that the London Borough of Havering, Town Hall, Main road, Romford, RM1 3BD intends to discontinue the following school on 31 August 2025:

Squirrels Heath Infant School, Salisbury Road, Gidea Park, Romford RM2 5TP

It is proposed that all pupils attending Squirrels Heath Infant School at the time of its closure and Squirrels Heath Junior School will automatically transfer onto the roll of the enlarged Primary School (See Part 1). As no pupils are being displaced and no additional pupils added, it is not expected that the closure of the aforementioned school will have a negative impact upon any local schools.
