What is happening?
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATHS
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(SPALFORD FOOTPATH NO.8 AND SOUTH CLIFTON FOOTPATH NO.3) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) CONTINUATION NO.2 ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State Transport in pursuance of the powers conferred by Sections 14 and 15 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 approves of The Nottinghamshire County Council (Spalford Footpath No.8 and South Clifton Footpath No.3) (Temporary Prohibition) Notice 2024 (which came into force on 28th October 2024 and was continued in force by a Continuation Order until 27th April 2025 inclusive) being extended and continuing in force until 27th October 2025 or until completion of the relevant works, whichever is the sooner.
The Order has the following effect:-
No person shall: -
(a) proceed on foot,
in the following lengths of footpath at Spalford and South Clifton in the District of Newark and Sherwood:
Spalford Public Footpath No.8 from Girton Restricted Byway No.1 at SK 8232 6904 to the start of South Clifton Public Footpath No.3 at the junction with Coal Yard Lane at SK 8233 6997, a distance of approximately 1040 metres.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction there is no alternative route.
If the works are not completed within the above period, the Order may be extended for a longer period with the further approval of the Secretary of State for Transport.
The prohibition is required to protect public safety while improvement works are undertaken to the footpaths.
