What is happening?
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF BRIDLEWAY
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(OLLERTON AND BOUGHTON BRIDLEWAY NO.7) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) CONTINUATION NO.2 ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State Transport in pursuance of the powers conferred by Sections 14 and 15 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 approves of The Nottinghamshire County Council (Ollerton and Boughton Bridleway No.7) (Temporary Prohibition Notice 2024 (which came into force on 29th October 2024 and was continued in force by a Continuation Order until 28th April 2025 inclusive) being extended and continuing in force until 28th October 2025 or until completion of the relevant works, whichever is the sooner.
The Order has the following effect:-
No person shall: -
(a) cause any horse to proceed,
(b) cause any animal to proceed,
in the following length of Bridleway at Ollerton and Boughton in the District of Newark and Sherwood: -
Ollerton and Boughton Bridleway No.7 – over the bridge only
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction there is no alternative route available for equestrians and animals.
If the works are not completed within the above period the Order may be extended for a longer period with the further approval of the Secretary of State for Transport.
The prohibition is required to protect public safety due to an unsafe bridge.
