What is happening?

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATH

 THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(BALDERTON FOOTPATH NO.11) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) CONTINUATION ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State Transport in pursuance of the powers conferred by Sections 14 and 15 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 approves of The Nottinghamshire County Council (Balderton Footpath No.11) (Temporary Prohibition) Order 2024 (which came into force on 28th October 2024 and continues in force until 27th April 2025 inclusive) being extended and continuing in force until 27th April 2026 or until completion of the relevant works, whichever is the sooner.

The Order has the following effect:-

No person shall: -

(a) proceed on foot,

in the following length of Footpath at Balderton in the District of Newark and Sherwood: -

Balderstone Footpath No.11 between the Sustrans Track at Grid Reference SK 8060 5138, through the old Flowserve site to the junction with Balderton Footpath No.13 at grid reference point SK 8091 5134, a distance of 310 metres.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available for pedestrians will be as follows:-

Sustrans Track, Lowfield Lane and Balderton Footpath No.13 and vice versa

If the works are not completed within the above period the Order may be extended for a longer period with the further approval of the Secretary of State for Transport.

The prohibition is required to enable construction of a new access road and housing development, and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the footpath.
