What is happening?

THE LAKE DISTRICT NATIONAL PARK AUTHORITY

SMALL LAKES BYELAW REVIEW – PAPERS ADVERT

Notice is hereby given that the Lake District National Park Authority intends to amend the Lake District (Smaller Lakes) Byelaws 1971. The amended byelaws will continue to cover all non-navigable lakes within the Lake District National Park. They will amend the definition of vessel and power-driven vessel, and the circumstances in which vessels may access the lakes.

Copies of the proposed byelaws will be kept at the offices listed below and will be open to inspection without payment on any weekday between 10am and 4pm up until 31 May 2025, from the publication of this notice.

* Lake District National Park Authority, Old Station Yard, Threlkeld, Keswick, CA12 4TT.

* Lake District National Park Authority, Lane Ends, Haverthwaite, LA12 8AB.

The byelaws may also be viewed on our website https://www.lakedistrict.gov.uk/smalllakes where there is a link to a consultation survey, where you can leave your comments by 31 May 2025.
