What is happening?

THE BOROUGH OF SWALE (OFF STREET PARKING PLACES)

(VARIATION No. 8) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that SWALE BOROUGH COUNCIL propose to make the above Order under section 35 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, having obtained the consent of the Kent County Council in accordance with Section 39(3) of the Act, and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act -

The Order will;

Introduce an overnight charge in the Shinglebank Car Park including the area of green opposite, and Shellness Road (land situated to the north- east/east of Shellness Road) to a Pay by Phone parking facility and introduce overnight parking Charges.

The Order includes some wording changes of an administrative matter that will make no alterations to existing parking and waiting restrictions and will require no changes to existing parking lines or signs.

A copy of the Order, any Orders which will be amended by the proposed Order, a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order and indicating the location and effect may be examined at the Reception Desk, Swale House, East Street, Sittingbourne, Kent, ME10 3HT between 10.00am and 12.00 Mid-day from
Friday 18th April 2025.

If you wish to object to the proposed Order you should send your grounds for objection in writing to the Parking Services Manager, quoting the name of the order to Swale House, East Street, Sittingbourne, Kent, ME10 3HT or to the following e-mail address; ParkingConsultations@Maidstone.gov.uk by 12 noon on
Monday 12th May 2025, Indications of support for the proposals are welcome and should be sent to the same address.
