What is happening?

THE AMERICAN MUSEUM IN BRITAIN DISCRETIONARY PENSION AND LIFE ASSURANCE SCHEME

Notice is hereby given pursuant to section 27 of the Trustee Act 1925 that the trustees of the American Museum in Britain Pension Scheme and the trustees of the American Museum in Britain Discretionary Pension and Life Assurance Scheme (together the “Schemes”), are intending to wind-up the Schemes in accordance with the Schemes’ governing documentation.

The following people are requested to write to Alec Comba at American Museum & Gardens, Claverton Manor, Bath, BA2 7BD on or before 11 June 2025:

- any employee or former employee of American Museum & Gardens (formerly known as The American Museum in Britain) (company number 05282777) who believes that they were a member of either of the Schemes and who is not already receiving a pension in respect of their membership of the Schemes;
- any person who believes themselves to be a beneficiary of the Schemes as the widow, widower or dependant of a deceased member of the Schemes; and
- any other person who believes they have a claim against, or an interest in, the Schemes.
Claimants should provide their full name, address, date of birth, National Insurance number and details of when they were a member of the Schemes.
Claimants need not write if they have received correspondence from the trustees of the Schemes within the last 12 months.
After 11 June 2025, the trustees will proceed to wind-up the Schemes in accordance with the Schemes’ governing documentation, having regard only to the claims and interests of which they have prior notice. The trustees will not be liable to any person or persons for a claim of which they do not have notice.
