PUBLIC NOTICE
UNDER SECTION 121(2) OF THE CHARITIES ACT 2011
The London Borough of Bromley (acting as corporate trustee (Trustee) of a charitable trust potentially known as the Emily Dowling Settlement (Settlement) relating to the land and buildings known as Churchill Theatre) gives notice that the Trustee proposes to dispose by way of freehold, the property known as
Churchill Theatre, Central Library & Offices and 110–118a High Street, Bromley shown edged in bold on the plan below.

The London Borough of Bromley has decided to sell the Churchill Theatre and Central Library site following a decision to invest in a brand new library on Bromley’s High Street which will serve the needs of the community more effectively. With no statutory services remaining at the existing site, the sale will allow a third party to invest in its future and ensure its sustainability. The Theatre will remain in situ following the sale.
In accordance with the requirements of the Settlement’s charitable Scheme, the proceeds of the sale will be held for the purpose of acquiring land for the purposes specified in Section 2 of the Technical and Industrial Institutions Act 1892.
Any member of the public wishing to make representations on the proposed disposal to the Trustee is invited to do so by 5pm on 28th April 2025.
