What is happening?

NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 SECTION 119 AND WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981 SECTION 53 THE WILTSHIRE COUNCIL PARISH OF CHILTON FOLIAT PATH 6 DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2025

On 11 March 2025, Wiltshire Council confirmed the above order made under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980. The effect of the order as confirmed will divert Footpath Chilton Foliat 6 situated at Lackbridge Cottage, Littlecote Lane, Chilton Foliat in the parish of Chilton Foliat, leading from OSGR SU 3168-7020, in broadly south south easterly direction for approximately 100m to OSGR SU 3171-7011, to a new route at OSGR SU 3168-7020 leading in a broadly west south westerly direction, over a footbridge, then south south easterly direction for approximately 97m to OSGR SU 3168-7012, the path having a width of 2-3m and the footbridge having a width of 1.4m. And thereupon the Marlborough and Ramsbury Rural District Council Area Definitive Map dated 1952 shall be modified accordingly. A copy of the order as confirmed and the order map may be seen free of charge at, Wiltshire Council, County Hall, Trowbridge, Wiltshire, BA14 8JN from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday by appointment. The order comes into force on 11 March 2025, but if a person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, he or she may under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 20 March 2025 to make an application to the High Court. Notice is hereby given that the terms of Article 1 in the above order have been satisfied and that both Articles 1 and 2 have come into force. 20 March 2025

NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF MODIFICATION ORDER SECTION 53 OF THE WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981 THE DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT FOR THE MARLBOROUGH AND RAMSBURY RURAL DISTRICT COUNCIL AREA DATED 1952 AS MODIFIED UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THE WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981 THE WILTSHIRE COUNCIL RAMSBURY 9A AND 9B (PART) DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2024

On 07 March 2025 Wiltshire Council confirmed as made the above Order made under Section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. The above order, made on 16 December 2024 modifies the definitive map and statement for the area by upgrading bridleway Ramsbury 9A to a restricted byway (length approx. 270 metres, width as per the Ordnance Survey 1:2500 map sheet 29.11 1885) from its junction with Ramsbury paths 43, 9 and 8 at Southside Cottage to its junction with Ramsbury paths 52 and 9B at Briary Wood and by upgrading part of footpath Ramsbury 9B to a restricted byway from the junction with 9A at Briary Wood for approximately 314 metres with a width of 10.1 metres to Axford Lane grid ref. SU238691(where it continues unchanged west south west as a footpath) and as shown on the Order plan. Copies of the order and map may be bought there (£5). The Order became operative as from 07 March 2025, but if any person aggrieved by the Order desires to question to validity on the ground that it is not within the powers of Section 53 or that any of the requirements of Schedule 15 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 have not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may within 42 days from 20 March 2025 make an application under paragraph 12(1) of Schedule 15 of the 1981 Act to the High Court.
