PREMIUM ON SECOND HOMES

Warrington Borough Council decided at its meeting on 27th February 2023 that in respect of the whole of the Warrington area a premium of 100% will apply to all properties classed as second homes. It was confirmed at the meeting on 24th February 2025 this will take effect from 1st April 2025.

For council tax purposes second homes are properties that are furnished but where no-one lives as their sole or main residence. Further information including how to apply for exceptions to the premium can be found on the Councils website at: Unoccupied properties | warrington.gov.uk
