COUNCIL TAX PREMIUM CHANGES

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at their meeting held on Wednesday 5 February 2025, Guildford Borough Council in accordance with Section 11B and 11C of the Local Government Finance Act 1992, as amended, has varied its previous determination of 7 February 2024 by determining that:

From 1 April 2025, the council tax long-term empty dwelling premium (levy) of 100% commences after a dwelling has been empty and unfurnished for one year unless it excepted in accordance with The Council Tax (Prescribed Classes of Dwellings and Consequential Amendments) (England) Regulations 2024.

Additionally, further determined that from 1 April 2025, a council tax premium (levy) of 100% will be charged on periodically used dwellings as defined by section 11C of the Local Government Finance Act 1992 unless it excepted in accordance with The Council Tax (Prescribed Classes of Dwellings and Consequential Amendments) (England) Regulations 2024.
