Borough of Calderdale - Compulsory Purchase Order

THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF CALDERDALE

DEPARTMENT FOR TRANSPORT HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 AND
ACQUISITION OF LAND ACT 1981

Notice is hereby given that Public Local Inquiries in connection with the Orders mentioned below will be held by an Inspector appointed for this purpose by the Secretary of State for Transport beginning at 10.00am on Tuesday 4 March 2025 at Halifax Town Hall, Crossley Street, Halifax, West Yorkshire, HX1 1UJ to hear representations from remaining objectors (as defined in the Compulsory Purchase (Inquiries Procedure) Rules 2007) and statutory objectors (as defined in the Highways (Inquiries Procedure) Rules 1994), from any other persons having an interest in the land the subject of the Compulsory Purchase Order and, at the Inspector’s discretion, to hear representations from any other persons who may desire to appear and be heard.

The Orders have been made by the Borough Council of Calderdale under the above-mentioned Acts and submitted to the Secretary of State for Transport for confirmation and are:

(1) THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF CALDERDALE

(HALIFAX TOWN CENTRE) (HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENTS)

(WEST YORKSHIRE PLUS TRANSPORT FUND, A629 PHASE 2) (SIDE ROADS) ORDER 2020. This is an Order under Section 14 and 125 of the Highways Act 1980.

(2) THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF CALDERDALE

(HALIFAX TOWN CENTRE) (HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENTS)

(WEST YORKSHIRE PLUS TRANSPORT FUND, A629 PHASE 2) COMPULSORY PURCHASE ORDER 2020. This is an Order under Sections 239, 240, 250 and 260 of the Highways Act 1980.

(3) THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF CALDERDALE

(HALIFAX TOWN CENTRE) (HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENTS) (WEST YORKSHIRE PLUS TRANSPORT FUND, A629 PHASE 2) SUPPLEMENTAL COMPULSORY PURCHASE ORDER 2021.

This is an Order under Sections 239 and 240 of the Highways Act 1980.

The Orders relate to proposals for the improvement on the A629, C5951, C5954 and C5955 highways in Halifax, West Yorkshire.

Proceedings on the above-mentioned Orders are being taken concurrently by virtue of Section 257 of the Highways Act 1980.
