What is happening?

Variation of fees for a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle Licence and a Private Hire Operator Licence 2025-2026.

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Section 70 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976, that Rushcliffe Borough Council has proposed to increase the fee for the grant of a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire vehicle licence and for the grant of a Private Hire Operator’s licence as follows:

Grant of a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle Licence
New vehicle application 1 Year (Less than 5 years old from date of
first registration) £220.00.
Renewal Vehicle Application 1 year or 6 months (Dependent upon
vehicle age) £220.00.
Private Hire Operators
Private Hire Operators’ Licence 5 years (vehicles not included) £1,025.00.
Each Vehicle additional cost for each operator (1-4 Vehicles) £135.00.
Scaled rates from 5 vehicles to 63+ per application 5 Years.

A copy of the notice may be inspected at the Council’s Contact Centre, West Bridgford Library, Bridgford Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham, NG2 6AT, without payment during normal office hours Monday, Thursday and Friday by appointment, for a period of twenty-eight days from the date of the publication of this notice. 

Representations should be made in writing to the Senior Licensing and Enforcement Officer, Rushcliffe Borough Council, Rushcliffe Arena, Rugby Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham, NG2 7YG, or by email to licensing@rushcliffe.gov.uk, and received within twenty-eight days from the date of the publication of this notice. 

If no objections to the variation are made within twenty-eight days from the date of the publication of the notice, the variation shall come into operation on 1st April 2025.
