What is happening?

ENVIRONMENT AGENCY ANNOUNCEMENT OF INTENTION NOT TO PREPARE AN ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT

Regulation 5 of the Environmental Impact Assessment Land Drainage Improvement Works (Amended) Regulations 1999 SI 1999/1783

Fosseway gauge hut replacement The Environment Agency gives notice that it proposes to carry out an improvement works to the existing Fosseway gauge building located on the edge of the River Avon in North Wiltshire (Grid Ref: ST 891 398 7031).

The proposed improvement works will involve the following: demolition of the existing hut, levelling of existing slab, construction of a new hut, refurbishment of existing fence and installation of new gate latch. The work will begin and finish in March 2025, subject to the weather conditions.

The Environment Agency considers that the improvement works are not likely to have significant effects on the environment and does not intend to prepare an environmental statement in respect of them. The Environment Agency Project team and the National Environmental and Assessment Sustainability (NEAS) team consider these works to fall under our Permitted Development.

Any person wishing to make representations in relation to the likely environmental effects of the proposed improvement works should do so, in writing, to the address specified below, within 30 days of the date of publication of this notice.
