Notice Of Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic – Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 –

Langley Road, Sutton
Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers proposes to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic.

Prohibition of traffic – Langley Road, Sutton – From the junction of Knotting Road to the junction of Ridge Hill.

Eastbound Diversion – Ridge Hill, Wetton Way, Cock Hall Lane, Langly Road.

Westbound Diversion – Coalpit Lane, Broadcar Road, Buxton Old Road, Buxton Road, The Silk Road, Mill Lane, Cross Street, Byrons Lane, Hall Lane, Church Lane, Langley Road.

These are the only suitable diversion for the works and are mandatory to follow.

This order will come into operation on Thursday 6 March 2025 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Friday 21 March 2025.

Public Rights of Way Notice

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 – Temporary Prohibition Of Pedestrians

Public Footpath No 1 Parish of Kettleshulme and Public Footpath No 35 Parish of Lyme Handley

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 (1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, that the Cheshire East Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on the following:

That Public Footpath No.1 in the parish of Kettleshulme, which commences at OS grid reference (OSGR) SJ 9910 8067 and runs in a generally north north east direction for approx. 242 m. to OSGR SJ 9919 8089.

That Public Footpath No.35 in the parish of Lyme Handley, which commences at OSGR SJ 9919 8089 and runs in a generally north direction for approx. 252 m. to OSGR SJ 9913 8113.

The closure is necessary to protect the public from danger posed by a flood damaged bridge.

The Order continues the restriction that came into force on 9 January 2025 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 6 months, or until the works required on or adjacent to the footpath are completed
