Notice of Statutory Consultation on the Proposal to Establish a New Stage of

Education in a School – New Additional Support Class (ASC) within Strathallan Primary School, Kirkcaldy.

On 5 December 2024, the Cabinet Committee of Fife Council authorised the Education Directorate to undertake a statutory consultation in terms of the Schools (Consultation) (Scotland) Act 2010 on the proposal to establish a new Additional Support Class provision(ASC) within Strathallan Primary School, Kirkcaldy from Monday 18 August 2025.

A copy of the proposal document is available for inspection at and printed copies are available from:

•  Main Reception, Fife Council, Fife House, North Street, Glenrothes, KY7 5LT

•  The schools affected by the proposal (between the hours of 9 am and 3 pm)

The statutory consultation period commenced on Tuesday 7 January 2025 and will thereafter run until close of business on Friday 21 February 2025. You are invited to attend the Public Meeting on the proposal to be held at:

•  Strathallan Primary School on Wednesday 

29 January 2025 from 6.00-7.00 pm Informal Drop-in Sessions have also been arranged at:

•  Strathallan Primary School on Wednesday  29 January 2025 from 8.45-9.30 am, 2.45-3.30 pm and 5-6 pm.

You are invited to have your say on this proposal. You can attend the public meeting, and/or you can make written representations by letter, email, or completion of a Consultation Response Form to any of the following:

Following conclusion of the consultation period, the Council will review the proposal and prepare a Consultation Report for consideration by a future Cabinet Committee of the Council. Further detail on this process is contained in the proposal paper.
