Members’ Allowances Scheme 2024/25

The Local Authorities (Members’ Allowances) (England) Regulations 2003 require local authorities to make a scheme of allowances for their members and to establish and maintain an independent remuneration panel to make recommendations to the Council about the scheme and the amounts to be paid. The Regulations make specific provision for the London Councils (formerly the Association of London Government) to establish a panel, which could exercise the functions of an independent remuneration panel on behalf of London borough councils.

The rates adopted by the Council are:

The Basic Allowance covers all intra-borough travel costs and subsistence. Members of the Council may claim reimbursement of travel and subsistence expenses for travel outside the Borough on approved duties only, under the same rules and entitlements applied to Council Officers.

The Members’ Allowances Scheme for 2024/25 and a report setting out the amounts paid to each councillor in the year 1st April 2023 to 31st March 2024 are available on the Council’s website (www.wandsworth.gov.uk) or for inspection at the Town Hall, Wandsworth High Street, London, SW18 2PU, Monday to Friday excluding Bank Holidays, between 9.00am and 4.30pm.
