What is happening?

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT

HACKNEY CARRIAGE FARES
SECTION 65 OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT (MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS) ACT 1976

NOTICE is hereby given that Stockport Council proposes to vary the Hackney Carriage tariff fares from 18th December 2024 as set out in the proposed Fare Chart, as below for Hackney Carriages plying for hire in the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport.

Tariff 1 - For hiring between 6am to 11:59pm (excluding bank holidays)

Up to 824 yards: - £3.00
Each subsequent 117 yards: - 20p
Waiting time: for each period up to 38 seconds: - 20p

Tariff 2 - For hiring between 12am to 5:59am, and all day on bank holidays (excluding Christmas and New Years Day)

Up to 528 yards: - £3.00
For each subsequent 88 yards: - 20p
Waiting time: For each period up to 26 seconds: - 20p

Tariff 3 - For hiring between 9pm on 24th December, until 5:59am on 27th December, and between 9pm on 31st December, until 5:59am on 2nd January

Up to 824 yards: - £4.60
For each subsequent 117 yards: - 30p
Waiting time: For each period up to 38 seconds: - 40p

Interior Soiling - £50
Exterior Soiling - £25
For each article of luggage - 20p
For each pram - 20p
For each dog - 20p
Each adult in excess of 1 - 20p
Airport drop-off - current barrier charge

Any person wishing to object to the change should do so in writing to the Licensing Manager, Public Protection Service, Place Management, Stockport Council, Fred Perry House, Edward Street, SK1 3UR.

Objections must be received no later than 5pm on 17th December 2024.

This notice is also available for inspection on the Town Hall notice board on Edward Street. Mark Glynn, Director of Place Management.
