Compulsory Purchase of Land in Tilbury and Gravesend

1. Notice is hereby given that National Grid Electricity Transmission Pic has made The National Grid Electricity Transmission Plc (Grain to Tilbury) Compulsory Purchase Order 2024 on 14th November 2024 under Section 10 of and Schedule 3 to The Electricity Act 1989. It is about to submit this order to the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero for confirmation, and if confirmed, the order will authorise National Grid Electricity Transmission Plc to purchase compulsorily the land and the new rights described below for the purpose of constructing a new cable tunnel under the River Thames between Tilbury and Gravesend to carry electricity cables, including two new sealing end compounds, two new tunnel headhouse buildings, new electric lines, gantry structures and temporary construction compounds together with related apparatus, works and infrastructure to facilitate the transmission of electricity within and across the network, and to enable the decommissioning of existing electricity infrastructure.

2. 4.
